Financial Peace University – 2010
On Febuary 2nd, 2010 Victory Church began planning for implementing Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University at our Church. The final preview and final registration for the class was March 7th and the first class was set for March 17th. In total, 57 families (82 adults and young adults) registered for the class which represented a near 100% involvement of our church members and also had some people from outside the church register. In a nation where debt and credit is a way of life, this course is perfect as it sets Biblical foundation for true money management.
One interesting thing to note was this story. During one of the February promotional weeks, Dan Sawyer, a leader in the church, got up and gave a testimony about how he was blessed with the money to take the class (the class cost about $99). He then encouraged everyone to sign up in faith trusting that God would make a way, even if they didn’t have the funds to do the class. On the final registration day Pastor Doug mentioned that if people wanted they could help sponsor others. At the end of the service when everyone was to pay, everyone who signed up but needed help was sponsored and everyone who had signed up in faith was able to take the class.

Class began on March 17th as scheduled.
Other Notes:
- The class took the place of the regularly scheduled wednesday night service
- Make-up classes were provided on Sunday evenings for those who had to help in the nusery, childrens and youth ministries during the wednesday class.
