Victory Church accepts donations for Haitian Mission
On Jan 12th, 2010 a major 7.0 richter earthquake hit the island nation of haiti. The earthquake got the attention of the whole world as many nations, including the United States of America, sent aid to the already hurting nation.
The nation is said to have made a pact with the devil in the early 18th century in order to escape the control of the French. Since then Voodoo has had a stronghold over the nation and it has remained in a state of virtual lawlessness and poverty, run by gangs and bands of robbers. Pat Robertson, a respected leader in the Christian world, was one of the first to publicly make these statements over the media. These statements were highly controversial and many media outlets and people rejected the notion that it was their pact and voodoo worship that had brought a curse on the nation.
Working with Mission of Hope, a ministry in Haiti, Victory Church began receiving donations to help the devastated nation. The churches efforts were cited in the January 15th edition of the Apopka Cheif:
Victory Church accepts donations for Haitian mission
Victory Church on the corner of Fifth Street and Park Avenue behind City Hall will accept offerings for earthquake relief for the Mission of Hope in Haiti. This is a mission that houses an orphanage, church and school where most of their buildings are [were] severely damaged or destroyed in the recent earthquake. They also have a feeding program that extends to the surrounding area.
One of their preschool teachers was killed in the earthquake. For more information on Mission of Hope, visit their Web site at www.missionofhopehaiti.net.
All donations should be made payable to Victory Church World Outreach Center and on the memo line of the check should read Mission of Hope. All money will go to their organization.

After this the church began talks of taking a mission trip to haiti with a four pronged approach: Construction, Health Supplies, Education, and Evangelism.
